Mahjong 2.0 is designed for players who already know how to complete a basic “chicken hand” and are ready to take the next step in Hong Kong Style Mahjong. We’ll dive into real game strategy — reading the table, protecting your hand, making smarter discards, and playing with intention. This is where the game becomes layered, thoughtful, and truly addictive.
Learn the basics of American Mahjong in a social setting and meet other new players! Instructors will use the Montahj™ Method, a style of teaching Mahjong in a fun and interactive way, to introduce new players to American Mahjong. Through guided game play, participants will learn terminology, rules, dealing, the Charleston, etiquette, social rules, how to read the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) card, and how to form winning hands. This clinic is designed for players who have never played.
