Every session welcomes all three divisions — you just need to find your fit.
Beginner (2.0) You know the basics but you still like having an expert nearby for rules questions. An instructor is on-site at every match to help with rules (not strategy), so you can play at ease.
Beginner+/Intermediate (2.5-3.0) You keep a steady, confident pace — typically 2-3 games per hour. This division is for players who know their way around the wall and want consistent, competitive company.
Intermediate+/Advanced (3.5-4.0) You play fast, and you play to win — usually 3-4 or more games per hour. Built for players who want quick decisions, sharp opponents, and a real competitive rhythm.
We will reach out to you prior to the first match to find out your skill level and place you in the appropriate league.
Each league match consists of two 55-minute rounds, with a five-minute break between rounds. Each player will be assigned to a table of four for each round. Table assignments will rotate after the first round.
Players may complete up to four games per round—but four is a limit, not a requirement. There is no penalty for completing fewer games. Play at your division’s natural pace, and let the games you finish speak for themselves.
Record the score for every completed game, up to four games per round. Score sheets will be provided.
The NMJL rules printed on the current card will serve as the league’s official rules. Montahj Social may establish supplemental league rules as needed. All rules questions will be resolved by Montahj Social instructors, whose decisions will be final. Additional league rules and etiquette guidelines will be shared with participants before the league session begins.

Standing Points are added up across every round in the match. Whoever has the most Standing Points at the end wins — not whoever racked up the most Performance Points in a single game.

Every player must sign the scoresheet to confirm accuracy. Give scoresheets to the instructor before leaving the match. Scores will count toward your rating — the more you play, the more your rating and ranking reflect it.
